Medicare is a federally funded program designed to help pay medical expenses for adults who are 65 and older, or who have disabilities.
What is Medicare Advantage?
Medicare Advantage is an alternative to Original Medicare. These plans replace Medicare Parts A and B. They may also offer additional benefits like vision, dental and prescription drugs.
What does Medicare Advantage cover?
Medicare Advantage Plans are required to include the same benefits as Original Medicare. Most plans include prescription drug benefits. Some plans also offer additional benefits for vision, dental and hearing.

Am I eligible for a Medicare Advantage Plan?

It’s also important to know that you can’t be enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan and a Medicare Supplement Insurance plan at the same time.

When can I enroll?
There are specific times during the year when you can enroll in Medicare Advantage Plans. The best time to enroll is during your Initial Enrollment Period, which begins three months before you turn 65 and ends 3 months after you turn 65.
You can also enroll during the Medicare Open Enrollment Period which runs from October 15 through December 7 each year.
If you miss both of these, you may be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period depending on your individual circumstances. A licensed agent can help you determine if you are eligible for a Special Enrollment Period.
